Yup. A friend of mine today said, "What am I going to do during the holidays? More than half my family would have voted for Trump" (canadian)
I said: "Past time to make your stand. You married into a multi-racial family who obviously are not welcome in their homes (the trumpsters homes, that is). Tell them to F-off and make your own holiday tradition. Invite all your loved ones, family and friends and celebrate the true meaning of the holiday season. I need advice from someone who has worked in cybersecurity please...?
(please don't ask personal info because I won't reveal it)
My problem is this:
I have been dealing with one financial institution for many years. Recently they merged with another, set up a new website,and since then every single time I log onto their website I get error messages then locked out and have to call their head office and they give me a temp code to reset my entire account log in info, PAC and security questions.
For months they have been saying it's because their website is new and there are bugs/glitches.
Today, I insisted they do something after it happened again and they said they don't know why this is occurring but they will get IT to look into it. (I am still waiting for a reply but not holding my breath)
I am VERY careful not to make typos when logging in. My passwords are very complicated and long, and *never* a *word*.
I know the phone number I am calling is to their office, not some scammer.
My computer is NOT "registered" with them, because I am too worried someone might get into it, so I have to answer a security question each time I log in.
There has been no unexplained movement/changes in my account.
This is the only website I have trouble logging into.
Have you heard of anyone having a similar issue ?

I think most people on this platform have the same social/political goal, to make life better, more stable, inclusive and with compassion more caring, and many of us are feeling a huge loss.
Think about this:
Is this loss not unlike losing a family member or best friend?An important election was lost, and with it many hopes and dreams.
I am seeing
Denial, "I can't believe this happened"
Rage, "IT is the fault of _<insert whatever or whomever here>
Bargaining, "Well, if we do this___this___should happen"
Depression: "I just can't go on."
But I am not see much Acceptance yet.
Also I am seeing people demanding CWs, use of hashtags, "Don't post about ___!"
Maybe Americans and some others need to be allowed to simply vent for a couple of days without worrying about rules and limitations.
Could we just let them sort through their grief, please, let's have a little tolerance and compassion because this is the platform that is supposed to be designed to be different form all others.

🎶 🦻 One of the personal joys of technological advances is how clear audio has become over these many decades. I remember trying to listen to music over 60+ years ago and getting very frustrated with being unable to hear the lyrics clearly due to my hearing issues.
Today, I can pop in ear buds or wear headphones and hear the singers words and more of a range of sound than back when I was young. What a pleasure.😊 🎧 :party_parrot:

Normally I don't watch TV however, I was helping an elderly neighbour by adjusting their digital clocks and he had his tv turned on.
Trump commercials were playing and it blew me away the absolute BS his campaign was producing.
I turned to the gentleman and said,
"I hope you don't believe this propaganda!"
He looked at me and replied:
"I wish Trump was dying in prison and that's too good for him"
I walked away thinking if this 90+ year old man can figure it out, then there is hope for the US .

Danielle Smith is looking south for inspiration, ideas and laws.
Legislation such as the Alberta Sovereignty Act and the Provincial Priorities Act have garnered strong opposition, with critics highlighting threats to the constitutional division of powers and rule of law, academic freedom and Indigenous sovereignty.
Proposed changes to the #Alberta
Human Rights Act and anti-trans legislation have sparked additional concerns.
Many of these measures were left out of the UCP’s 2023 election platform, raising questions as to their origins. "Proposed changes to the Alberta Bill of Rights would allow a worker to take a provincial employer to court if the employee is subject to a vaccination requirement.
"No one should be pressured into accepting any medical treatment without their full consent, including a vaccine," Premier Danielle Smith said at a news conference Monday prior to the introduction of Bill 24, the Alberta Bill of Rights Amendment Act.
If passed, Bill 24 would protect a person from being coerced into receiving medical care, treatment or a procedure — but not if "that individual is likely to cause substantial harm to themselves or others," a briefing document on the bill says.
Vaccination would be an exception, according to officials. If the bill passes as written, 👉 no one could force a person to be vaccinated 👉 to prevent harm to themselves or others."
Amery said the bill is worded to allow law enforcement to continue to apprehend people under the Mental Health Act.
The legislation would also allow officials to force an adult who has lost decision-👉 making capacity into addictions treatment. The government has signalled so-called "compassionate intervention" legislation is coming.
The government is expected to table three bills in the fall sitting that will limit trans rights."
