I’m hopeful about nostr, but I feel like this is rose coloured glasses during the honeymoon period before it becomes mainstream
There was similar positive sentiment during the early Internet when it was just the early adopters, and then we saw a gradual shift as the mainstream came online
Maybe it will be different with nostr, decentralisation, and changed incentives, but I remain cautious yet hopeful

No political home is a good way to put it. Political alignment is not something your ARE, it should depend on the topic discussed.
The one topic I would describe myself as staunchly libertarian on is bodily autonomy. That is a fundamental level of freedom that I won’t budge on. For wont of a better word, it is “sacred”
So on that topic I’m “libertarian”, but am I libertarian in general? No.
On other topics I might take a more authoritarian stance 🤷🏻‍♂️

There’s a thread of libertarianism that is closer to authoritarianism i.e. freedom for me, but not for thee
And I think that turns people off
Also the problem of negative externalities leaves a bad taste in the mouth
At the end of the day people also have the free will as individuals to coordinate as a collective in a common goal. Seems contradictory as a libertarian to be against people’s freedom to do that
I think for the libertarian movement to be successful they should discard the mountain man fantasy and instead focus on attacking big government in favour of smaller government
Luckily Bitcoin is the perfect tool for this and allows non-libertarians to coalesce around a libertarian goal
