Begonias! One of my personal favorites. They grow really easily from a cutting. Once upon a time I had a collection of a dozen different kinds. Many varieties need just the right light to flower but the foliage is so lovely, flowers are kind of beside the point.

If anyone sees this who does wiki editing and if they have minutes of their life to spare, I would be delighted if the info were corrected.

The wiki for Jerrold says his grandson published "Bons Mots of Charles Dickens and Douglas Jerrold" but it was Charles Lamb, not Dickens.

Children's socks are really good for covering foot/ankle wounds. Use paper tape to keep them from falling down - of course, being careful that it's not tight enough to cut off circulation.
And put some antiseptic cream on it.
It would be very expensive to have an infection!

Carrots are an any time/any place treat - they're not just for dinner any more!
I cut them up into sticks because my spaniel doesn't like to eat big hard things. Small hard things are more her speed.

Tell mom - or dad or auntie or uncle - carrots are very low calorie and you can eat almost* as many as you want.

You might get "the right dog" at one point but as they age things may change. My vet tells me my dog's issue may be onset of dementia. I am happy now if I can sleep till seven without being woken for a three am walkie. I just remind myself how much good will she built up over 14 years that I try to be good humored about it.

For any wound that needs protecting from licking or scratching at the shoulder or lower, I am an enthusiastic proponent of the onsie for dogs and cats. So much more comfortable for the beast while allowing access for monitoring the healing.
