@npub1ccz…7l0l The first time I encountered that charge at a restaurant (I am in the LA area), I had a chat with our server about it. We ended up handing him cash to make sure he actually got a tip because so many diners look at the 18% surcharge and figure that covers it. His tips had dropped so much as a result of the surcharge that he had just taken a second job--at a chain steak house.
We have never gone back to the restaurant.
