Well, I’m more interested in the digging Ashton Forbes has done on MH370, and it seems pretty plausible the yes, we have a kind of warp technology involving plasma orbs, and yes, they don’t “obey” rules of standard macro-physics that we learn in school. Well, this post of yours will likely start a flamewar, but I’m on the side of you with ColdCard, primarily because it’s Bitcoin-only. “Open Source” means a lot of things, and I think it shouldn’t be exclusive to the GPL3 purist language. But the Bitcoin-only focus of ColdCard means it won’t try catering to the real fraudsters, the cryptobros. Hence, better security, EVEN IF there’s some level of code obscurity with ColdCard.
Besides, ColdCard’s documentation is top notch in my book.

I suspect this may have occurred with one of my sons as well, but he’s so minimal “on the spectrum” that it’s not a serious concern. Step 1: keep doing what you’re doing. Step 2: work around the difficulties in his life and keep encouraging him in all the ways he’s great at one thing or another. Step 3: Even with difficulties, I think you’ll find unexpected excellence to him that is heightened BECAUSE of the limitations.

The interesting thing about #Bitcoin is that when it rips higher, unlike the stock market or bonds, there is no uncertainty of whether now is the time to “sell”. Because there is never going to be the time to “sell”; only times where I need to convert my store of value into a good or service I need in the future.
Therefore, my desire to consume goods and services goes drastically down, and my desire to create value goes drastically up. Depression and anxiety over the future goes down. It’s no panacea, but it’s a lot better than the world I grew up in where getting a “good paying job” was about all one could hope for to provide for one’s family.

Ah, I see you haven’t been to or forgot the lessons of MBA school. Most acquisitions of big businesses SUBTRACT value from the combined organizations, 67% of the time I’ve been told. A widely studied fact.
So why would a big business ever attempt such prone-to-failure actions over and over again you ask yourself after MBA school. And the reality became clear to me after working for a large corporation that did exactly these things: it’s a fancy form of money laundering. Not the illegal kind, the grab-more-money-from-dopes-in-gov’t kind.
You see, first the acquisition happens, and big biz takes a small stock price hit for 3-6mths and CEO has to talk up how good it will be long-term. Annual SEC filings show big biz made more money this past year (aka - put all of profitable biz’s profits on the neg. profits of big biz so net positive). A few years go by, and look at that, more power given by gov’t to bigger biz to do more stuff (by way of money printing and inflation and bonds) all while hemorrhaging more cash. But, CEO and top execs kept getting bonuses and prepping for their next “profitable” acquisition (read: stealing littler guy’s profits), rinse, repeat. Let the worker bees figure out how to manipulate “the numbers.”
And no, that’s not being cynical, that’s what I’ve been asked to do as a worker bee on at least two occasions.

Well, fair enough. 1. Sun Tzu’s Art of War has been misapplied to domains it wasn’t written to address for the past all-the-years-I’ve-been-alive, and I find that really silly. 2. Even if we accept the premise of the quote as applying to Bitcoin, how does it follow that we have unassailable high ground? Also, Sun Tzu’s AoW addresses how to counter that problem too by drawing one’s enemies out of their strong position through non-military means. 3. Breedlove’s assertion of moral high ground is quite questionable; a category error, and therefore also possibly setting up a philosophical category error depending on what he means by “philosophical”.
I find Breedlove’s pithy quips to be rather obnoxiously pious in ways that are unnecessary to spreading info about the value of Bitcoin.
