got a compression fracture on one of my vertabrae from a gnarly fall, and besides it being the worst pain i've ever felt, the hardest thing has been putting my workouts to the side.
nevertheless, i feel incredibly blessed that i can walk, and there wasn't any damage to my head.
life is so fragile, wonderful, and precious. our bodies do so much for us.

after being w a bunch of developers excited about ai, i see the potential of it and am coming to understand that that potential is becoming more of a reality. one of those developers said it'll even out the playing field when making apps and tools. "made a new app? cool, with ai i can copy it, too". but although the app/function/feature/whtvr is copied, ultimately what will remain different, and not as easily duplicated btwn apps, will be the user experience. two apps may have the same function, but their users might seek different paths to that function. so, while yeah, ai will make some jobs unnecessary, creativity to use ai for a specific niche and do it exceptionally good for it will remain a job in itself.
with that in mind, rushing to replace everything w ai-driven alternatives wouldn't make sense bc not everyone is interested in automation, using ai or not will be a niche in itself.

how inclusive is a human rights activism group that excludes cis men, and only includes "girls, gays and theys"?
i understand the need for a "safe space", but such spaces can only be built when everyone learns to coexist... can we ever learn to coexist if we don't engage with those we are "wary" of?
i think it is realistic to include the almost other half of the world in conversations of rights and activism, we're all human. exclusion limits our understanding of each other, thus exclusion divides and deters.
i saw a video on how countries that fail women fail. imagine if it was the other way around. failing half of the world’s population means slowing progress at twice the normal rate. separating knowledge from people makes no sense...
whatever identity, everyone should be invited to conversate on increasing human rights.

the same is true with exercise, during the first half we should do hiit and cardio, but wane off working out during our second half bc it spikes up our cortisol, messes up with our estrogen, and yes, actually stores fat!! fasted workouts are also insanely bad (i lost a bit more than 5 pounds in like 2 months by eating breakfast before working out)
fasting studies are mainly done on men, and fasting works wonders on them! they are designed for them, but we’re literally designed to store more fat, so if we put our female bodies under unnecessary stresses during its most delicate stages, we can cause lots of hormonal imbalances and store extra fat :(

please check out the book “in the flo”!! it’s about living by your hormonal cycle; in it, it talks about how fasting and caloric deficits can actually activate fat storage in women! they’re good for our first half of the cycle, but cause lots of issues on our second half (since our bodies are building tissue to expel, we actually need about 250 more calories during our follicular and menstrual stages)
