By "dud relay" I meant a relay specified in the key's relay list which isn't accepting notes, either because the key isn't authorized or there's something wrong with the relay and it's rejecting all messages. Looking at it more deeply, it's possible it's just any relay that requires authorization, so if you have one or more of them on your relay list than that might be what's causing the Amber not found message.

You're welcome, I've been working on NIP-55 integration for a while so I'm always interested in these edge cases. I think the issue lies in the bogus hex key that Amber generates from the empty npub string. It needs more testing with various pubkeys combinations, but changing the null check in Amber fixes the problem for me. I'm happy to raise an issue, the bug is easily reproducible with the right test keys, the only question is which repo - Pokey, Amber or both?

Digging deeper, it seems to be related to the npub being sent by Pokey to Amber in the "current_user" Intent field for Relay auth. Pokey is sending an empty string which Amber is converting to a hex string and signing the Auth event with, which in turn is being rejected by the Relay, which causes the error. At least *I think so* - because debugging IPC is complicated! When I change the null check in Amber to be isNullOrEmpty() then the error goes away.

Just doing some quick debugging and I think it's related to relay authorization/subscribing, when I add a key that has some dud relays on its relay list I get the following errors in Logcat (the same number as dud relays):

That's not all they've been sending over - those thumb drives are also loaded with porn, anime and spyware ofc. They were even running temporary meshnetworks with them to eavesdrop on cell networks at one point.
The North Koreans have also been sending back more than just rubbish. A lot of literal shit, human and animal has made it's way across the DMZ over the years.
This has been going on for almost a decade, I wonder why it's a news story now?

The 710 is running the node, I went with Bitcoin Core, LND and RTL in the end. The most frustrating part was getting Tor to work. It'd be great to see how you got your stack running with Compose, there aren't that many good examples in the wild!
Now that it's all synced and running I just have to wrap my head around opening and balancing channels, submarine swaps etc etc

The biggest change is the new AppInfo API which now includes AppInfo.iconData for the base 64 encoded string of the app's icon and AppInfo.iconUrl which is the data url of the app's icon. Check it out at:

There are apps like #Amber for Android that implement NIP-55 which is basically NIP-07/nos2x for mobile devices - is this what you had in mind? Glad you like it :-) the app icon is sourced from the Android Package Manager as a native Drawable and afaik encoding them as a base64 blob is the only way to pass them to Capacitor

STAY AWAY FROM COINBASE!
I tried to buy a small amount of BTC through them yesterday and it was IMMEDIATELY transferred to an "unknown" wallet! Their support has been abysmal, over 3 hours (!!!) talking with 4 different support people, 2 of whom locked my account without asking, before one of them simply confirmed that they have no way of telling whether the transaction was fraudulent or not. Given that they enforce KYC, I simply don't believe this.
I'm just glad it was only a relatively small amount of fiat. It's been an extremely disappointing experience with crypto so far, and it's not exactly beating the scam allegations!

Very similar use cases, with very different implementations. I have a 24 acre farm and I've looked into LORA for setting up sensors but it's all very proprietary. A radio link protocol like APRS being used to exchange NOSTR messages using commodity hardware and open source software could work well for long range IoT networks

Looks to me like APRS over HF. I used to dabble quite a bit in TCP/IP over HF back in the day, we even had a working email system between our ships before Sat C made it redundant. Codan used to make really nice HF modems, don't know if they still do, but you don't really need much gear to get started these days.

I sat down a couple of weeks ago to try and wrap my head around Nostr and I accidentally wrote a relay in the process. I was initially thinking about just making a drop in replacement for Kafka/RabbitMQ but it could probably be used for lots of other things as well (like an actual Nostr relay for one). Thanks to @npub180c…h6w6 and others for their excellent work, it wouldn't have been so easy without them.
