The link between fedi ecash tokens is still through custodial software. The tokens are only minted by the federation, but to redeem them, the software still needs to be hosted. The fedi mint is a single point of failure, and at that point and for general use, cashu in its current form is a perfectly acceptable way to use a custodian.
If you trust the cashu custodian to host the mint, you probably can trust them to not rug your tokens, at least in the short term. It's not perfect, but there aren't any silver bullets yet, both lightning and ecash aren't perfect alone, but together they largely solve the majority of end-user issues. Adoption of them together provide tools to solve many market problems.
If market use-cases are identified, and solutions are built around them, the need amplifies to find better solutions to the ecash custody problem. We know the problem is solvable, the only debate is over how and whether better solutions might emerge.
Patience is key, education is paramount.

I don't think there are any good forms of government so it's largely a waste of time to argue semantics. My issue is how people use the word Democracy as if it's a panacea, when the word itself literally refers to a failed system of "self" rule. By the way, the "consent of the governed" and the formation of our republican form of government itself is founded on majority rule, this is the political theory of Jefferson and Madison, where they argue the seat of sovereignty and authority originates. In my opinion what we call government is no less than limited organized crime, and that's what it's always been no matter the form.

Do not drink soft water. The high sodium content messes with your hydration balance. Better to drink hard water, before the softner (despite what they tell you that soft water is "fine", it's not fine). If your water is between 15 and 20 grains of hardness this is ideal for drinking. A "laundry list" of reasons is not how you build a solid case. "Wearing them out" with technical jargon, details and endless repitition does not work on actual technical people. If you have a good reason, lay it out and lead with that. If you have to buttress your main argument with weaker arguments, then you are hiding your real reason.
