#090 - Inflation
The "Inflation" card is an Instant Action card, costs nothing to play, and increments the game's Bitcoin (to Fiat) Exchange Rate by 1 Fiat.

Our game's Bitcoin Exchange Rate governs how much Fiat you can exchange 1 Bitcoin for, or vice-a-versa. This value is also used in some other calculations where Fiat is involved. Various cards like this one can manipulate the exchange rate either up or down.
Rarity: The "Inflation" card is Common in the Core 2025 card set because, let's face it, Fiat monetary inflation is incredibly common these days. These should pull frequently from starter decks and booster packs so you'll probably have plenty to play with and trade.

The "Inflation" card is of the Instant Action type. Instant Actions' Effects resolve immediately upon playing them, unless they are responded to by another Instant Action card.

Strategy: The "Inflation" card manipulates the Bitcoin Exchange Rate making both Bitcoin and many other costs more expensive in Fiat terms, so this card is very useful in creating a Bitcoin-favorable environment for decks that focus on Bitcoin and minimize use of Fiat.
In short, the "Inflation" card can be very useful in manipulating the game environment to favor Bitcoin strategies and hurt Fiat strategies.

Today's #CardSneakPeek is the standard way to mine bitcoin these days, the "ASIC Miner", and the most powerful way to generate hash rate in the game.

#033 - ASIC Miner
The "ASIC Miner" card is a Hardware card. It costs 3 bitcoin or the fiat equivalent to put into play. Once in play, it requires 3 energy to activate which will generate 5 hash rate.

Players' hash rates are compared at the end of each round to determine who gets to mine a block. Mining a block processes and resolves Mempool Action cards that have been played into the mempool and the Player who mines the block wins the 1 bitcoin reward.

Rarity: The "ASIC Miner" card is of the Rare rarity in the Core 2025 card set. These should pull occasionally in starter decks and booster packs, but you may need to trade with others to get more than a couple of them.
The "ASIC Miner" card is of the Hardware type. Hardware cards are cards that usually consume energy to perform a specific function. This card generates hash rate directly, however there are more general purpose Hardware like Computers that can run arbitrary Software.

Strategy: The "ASIC Miner" card is a very powerful way to generate a lot of hash rate. As earning 1 bitcoin at the end of each round for mining a block is one of the common strategies to win, being the hash leader each round is essential for such strategies.
In short, while expensive to play and activate, the "ASIC Miner" is one of the most powerful Hardware cards in the game and will help ensure that you are the hash leader each round.

The "College Dorm" card is an Energy Source. It can be Activated to generate energy for use by other cards. Remember when college students would mine bitcoin out of their dorm rooms? Yea, most expensive "free" electricity ever...

Rarity: The "College Dorm" card is of the Common rarity in the Core 2025 card set. These should pull fairly frequently in starter decks and booster packs, allowing you to collect enough for yourself and probably have a few to trade.
The College Dorm card is of the Energy Source type. Energy Sources are cards that generate some amount of energy for use by other cards that need energy to function.

Strategy: The "College Dorm" card is a useful early-game card as it costs nothing to play and provides a quick source of Energy. It also allows you to use the "Allowance" card in your deck, which allows you to receive Fiat for being "in school".
The Energy generated by Energy Source cards can be consumed by most Hardware devices, such as Computers, to perform various effects. You'll definitely need Energy Sources in your deck.

In short, the College Dorm is one of the more useful Energy Sources, providing a cheap source of Energy and unlocking a combo with the "Allowance" card to receive Fiat.

The "Satoshi Nakamoto" card represents the creator of Bitcoin itself. He allows you to search your deck for various Software cards, but beware, he "retires" forever once used. Satoshi is "better with code than with words"...

Rarity: The "Satoshi Nakamoto" card is one of only two #Legendary rarity cards in the Core 2025 card set. If you manage to pull one, it will be an extremely rare occurrence indeed!
The Satoshi Nakamoto card is of the #Person type. Person cards are either named people or archetypes which have different abilities or provide different ongoing effects.

Strategy: The "Satoshi Nakamoto" card makes sense to have in a #Software-focused deck, as once you have him you are able to search for the specific Software cards that your deck strategy needs to function.
