The Government is an entity created to the purpose of extorting people.
It always works under the same premise: "Do this or that or you will be thrown in jail".
On the other hand some well intended people do freedom oriented "institutional lobbying" in order to try that
society suffers less damage from the extorting entity.
Does this make sense to you? Is it reasonable to "negotiate" and try to persuade an extortionist?
IMHO it makes much more sense simply to deny any authority and morality to the extortionist.
When people lobby a Government they are recognizing it´s authority as legitimate.
So, up to a point, freedom lobby actually does more damage than non lobby.
Doing the right thing many times is mainly about not doing the wrong thing.

Example: A wants to nuke B unless B gives A some money. B can pay the price to A or it can pay it to C for protection against A. Even though A, B and C are ideologically desaligned.
