So I thought about it more.
If no machines are allowed, can't we just craft 2 lists of questions whose answers add up, in total, to a certain number of letters. The same sum for both lists.
The expert reads the questions and gives the total. If the total is ok, he knows, if not, he doesn't?

Ok I understand.
Simple : You put the expert in a room with a locked box.
The box opens with one of 2 combinations.
Inside is a gem.
The combination to open the box is : the first letter of every answer of either lists. so it's a 1000 letter combination. 2 possible combinations.
He just needs to go in the room and come out with the gem.
If he does he's an expert in either lizards or old math dudes.
Does that work ?

Well there are important points to consider.
Having more bitcoiners is better than having less. Why ? Because it prevents all kinds of nasty social attacks in meat space. And some violent ones too.
Also, not having privacy ends up taking censorship resistance out of bitcoin.
So like, I understand the carefulness to improve the protocol, but "pure store of value" ends up being "pure pile of shit".

one thing you're missing in your analysis is that 98% of the forked supply is getting dumped for more corn.
you haven't given a good rationale as to why they would win a price war.
also, say they do everything you say they do, we're still here, richer. it would be like they had never launched an etf.... so yeah bitcoin wouldn't disappear.
Also, if this would fly, this would create a massive opening for shitcoins to have their own etfs. so the SEC mught frown upon the practice : imagine I want to launch an eth ETF. i launch a Bitcoin one instead, and then fork to be compatible with ETH.

idk bout that. A base level of strength is definitely needed but quickly acheivable.
After that, putting a bunch of pressure on joints just to move iron isn't that advisable. At that point hypertrophy and flexibility are more important goals.
That's just my humble opinion.
