My issue is with the lack of proof for the allegation you made about Saylor threatening people if they funded devs.
People are allowed to have opinions, but threatening to crush others for disagreeing with him is a huge red flag. So naturally I want to know whether he did or did not threaten people. Did he?
It may seem like it’s just semantics, but in this case, it matters a lot which words were said. You didn’t lie about his feelings on developer funding, but you might have lied about what he would do to people that disagree with his opinion. That’s the part I cared about.

When he addressed the incident around the time the allegations surfaced a year ago, I know he gave his opinion on dev funding in general on WBD with Peter a year ago.
According to him, he expressed his concerns about funding developers to Cathie and others, which is different than threatening them with being crushed by him, which is what you said happened.
All I’m saying is that your account of what happened in those conversations does not align with his account. I’m sure you can see why what you said steered a lot of controversy and drama, especially since there were no receipts or sources to back up the alleged threat.

MSTR is over has over 50% of the BTC in that space. Their debt is unsecured and their dividend obligations can be easily met with common stock ATM usage. That bitcoin is mot going anywhere.
There might be some bonehead company that borrows with short duration and bad terms that gets rekt, but by and large the bitcoin in the treasuries of these companies is permanent capital. Smooth brains and people that haven’t looked into how these companies are acquiring bitcoin are gonna be waiting for liquidations that may never materialize. Investors in some of these stocks will get rekt, but bitty will not come into the market as a result.
Slow grind to $1M as we go up 50% come back down 30% for a decade. Assuming we don’t have hyperinflation of course. At this point I think bitcoin continues to hold a power law in gold terms for at least a decade, which is more or less Saylor’s base case for 2045

The inheritance feature is a huge value added imo
The product is by no means unsafe. If you’re Snowden or a high profile public figure maybe you look somewhere else, but for the vast majority of people the security model is more than sufficient.
The user does not interact with a seed phrase for the recovery process. This is a benefit to most people if we are being honest. There’s a small group of people for which this is a dealbreaker as a primary wallet.
An attacker can force you to create a transaction and steal your bitcoin, but this is no different to most alternatives. This weakness is not unique to Bitkey. This is why it’s probably a good idea to keep the hardware in a separate location from your phone (locker, safety deposit box, etc.) if you’re gonna store most of your bitcoin there. This best practice apply to all HWWs, however. Products like the ColdCard have trick pins and login countdowns that protect against this scenarios, but those products are more complex and less user friendly than Bitkey.

Securing a seed phrase without relying on third parties (bank deposit box, family member, etc.) is not a trivial thing that you can just recommend to Bob down the street, especially if they are not to keep it at home.
If my life depended on a normie or non-tech-savvy family member keeping Bitcoin safe for 10 years, I would not hesitate to recommend Bitkey over Coldcard with a seed phrase stored somewhere in their house.

I don’t see the dollar going anywhere anytime soon, especially with Tether coming into the picture.
There will always be 1-2% of the population that uses actual Bitcoin as a MoE, maybe another 3-5% that will use LN, but the vast majority of people will continue to spend fiat trash and save in Bitcoin. SoV is the feature that’s most in demand now and into the foreseeable future.

Without proof of liability, proof of reserve is just feel-good virtue signaling. Dismissing the potential known and unknown downsides of making all the addresses public is shortsighted imo. The only people complaining about this are the same people that tell others not to invest and to only buy Bitcoin and hold in self-custody. He even tells people to just buy Bitcoin and self-custody. The people complaining about this non-issue should follow his advice. If you’re broke like most people around the world it won’t matter how bad you want to transact.
The real issue is not so much expensive fees, but rather the bloating of the UTXO set, which is bad on its own, but also raises the hardware requirements needed to run a full node. Being able to run a full node is one of the things that makes bitcoin unique and special. There are other harms from JPEGs and CORE changing the default settings that makes it easier for more spam to end up on the network.
I really don’t know how you keep missing the point on these issues.

This is what I am talking about. Most people don’t listen to what British actually says or bother to even look at the name of the product, let alone understand how it generates income and why people would want to own such a product before sharing their opinion.
MSTY (YieldMax Option INCOME Strategy ETF) is, as the name implies, an income fund. That means by the nature of how they generate income, they sacrifice upside. So yes, they will underperform the underlying asset, which is designed to provide aggressive growth. MSTY serves a different purpose than MSTR, so they shouldn’t be compared against each other.
Why not just self custody? That implies saving, which is not the outcome in question. The comparison is selling bitcoin vs using MSTY. People can sell their bitcoin for income. MSTY provides an alternative source of income by selling MSTR’s volatility. The goal or idea is that having an income will help you keep more of your bitcoin.
I encourage you to open an excel sheet and compare the performance of selling bitcoin vs using MSTY for income since the fund came out. Maybe then you’ll see why MSTY is gaining popularity.
