Good, you should hesitate about the security of everything. But you should also worry about custodians rugging you. It's always tradeoffs.
That being said, don't put your life savings on your node. Just put an amount you're comfortable with (and that really depends on you), just like you would put a maximum amount of cash in your pocket wallet.

In other ways. But boomers largely benefited from cheap houses and economic growth while watching the price of their houses go up forever making them nominally richer, measured in fiat money. Fiat lost so much value that now it's getting impossible for future generations to achieve something similar as wages never kept up with house prices. And a place to live should be a basic thing to own and not forever debt slavery, if at all possible.

You don't need lnbits, it's just an easier way to manage multiple wallets. You can always offer free DVMs (I do this a lot) and you can manually enter a lightning address on your DVMs profile and it will be used. So basically after your DVM has its private key you can update it's profile via code or by simply logging into any client and setting the lnaddress in the profile there.

I want to release nostrDVM v1.0 next month.
If anybody wants to setup their own DVM, I created some tutorials (a little python is required). I would appreciate if people could try these out and give feedback on what works for them or if they still run into trouble somewhere.

There's a ton of limitations for devs when submitting to the app store. If you want to be pro Apple you can make the security argument, if you are anti Apple you can say it's protecting their walled garden with their rules, the dominance of their own browser on their platforms etc. also to avoid people going around the Appstore so they'd miss out on the 30% cut they take.
