I'm framing objectivity from a pragmatic stance. We don't need The Truth that exists in reality to survive. We may not even be able to physically hold it in our own minds, being fundamentally constructed of some subset of that reality.

I saw a bunch of pie charts and asked Claude to make a histogram:
The distribution of miners looks like a power law, which is not surprising for natural processes and network effects (though there really aren't many individual known pools, so it's difficult to draw strong conclusions with a fit of 0.65). That extra condition for individuals not trying to go in a pool near in 50% is an interesting constraint from a game theory pov though - acting as a sort of homeostatic effect, curious how much that incentive actually effects the dynamics.

There's some genuine curiousity + intuition that some of these things are relevant to my own thinkings about the world. The first chapter "The Rhizome" from their book "A Thousand Plateaus" has absolutely a biological essence to it, while also ascribing that attribute to processes you'd never initially say is biological or alive, but it do.

1) Write intentionally obscure
2) Assume you have read whatever they reference, because they are such sophistimicated philosophers and you should be as well. Bringing new ideas with little to no introduction
3) do (1) with an intent to induce a delerium in the reader
4) Write about ideas that they together may have contradicting opinions about
I can't help but laugh, be pissed off at myself and be in awe/fascination. Strikes my attention, there's a gravity to it.
Half of me attempts to push through the opacity. The other half pulls away, self talking "this is going to be a massive waste of time"
At least there's some enjoying the theater of it all and my own publically yielding to the delerium.

I've had this one for about a year. The 'sins' have come from those that care about their own motivations, paying for things using money from those that they don't actually care about - an overly broad generalization, but we're just some amorphous blob of 'people' providing funds. Their obligation however is to also use that money to provide assistance in return to that amorphous blob of individuals with conflicting interests, so there is less incentive to keep the quality high at a high resolution when they don't actually see the broad spectrum of individuals and their lived experience.
Its okay to have centralized leadership, but the system breaks down when its communication channels fail (or when parts of the system choose to not adhere to surrounding system signals). The brain in charge of the nervous system functions very well to keep the body alive, but it must also trust that the body can do what it expects through the signals it sends. We built governments to act like centralized control imposing will and dictating actions, but natural systems operate differently. Signals are sent down a chain with trust that they will effectively know what to do, but that presupposes good communication channels and good trust in the system's components to act.

Its a very dense book but also well written 😵‍💫🫣 if you spend some time with it the ideas come into focus. There's lots of gold there.
My interpretation goes something like this, which relates to earlier ideas in the book.
There is the Natural world, and there is Our (first person) world.
We can only understand the Natural world through our first person sensations. Our senses activate from the differences we feel and the relationships we've mapped (approximate cause and effect) between sensations. In actuality what it means is that we can't grasp causality in the natural world, but the cause and effect of sensations. I see clouds in the sky and expect to feel wet if I'm outside.
If the world was uniform, there is nothing to observe. Also, because we observe the world through our senses, we are limited at getting to any fundamental Truths.
The interesting thing happens when we move from working with direct sensations and use those relationships in isolation. Formal systems take the relationships we've acquired from our senses into sets of rules to experiment around with for their own sake. And because formal systems ultimately come from abstracting our sensations, they aren't Natural. Anything 'rule' based is not actually natural, but instead an approximation. Its important to recognize the map isn't the territory, confusing the two gets problematic whenever we use the rules derived on the map that don't actually exist in the real world. At the same time, we should be creating and using effective maps.
