Following a discussion about #telegram and #signal. @nprofile…gady Signal prompts you to use a smartphone to get the desktop app. So even if that ones better, no option to join unless you borrow a phone, but unsure if one keeps needing a phone to log in, like after an update, but for sure when switching device.

Clouds.. 😶‍🌫️ 🧐 So once i paid I am running a node in the cloud? No other installing etc.. to do? I'm still way to far away to understand - if ever...- things like github.
I would only need one channel right? (I'm not planning to open a store)
And to outsource everything... is that that bad? It's not my sayings i put on it but more like the cash i keep in my pocket right. Sucks if i loose it of course. The company that offers services linke LN wants to be trustworthy to be able to survive long run..

So what i understand now is that I need to run a node by myself -which is still foreign to me- to do it.
I like to close everything off when i leave the home and shut off internet when sleeping, so chance is I need to do that 'one time payment' again and again?
Meaning this is not the way for me and better I do a subscription way or find how to use something like @npub1h2q…w8ch ?

And if the LSP suddenly closes (how i think it work) the sats in my LN wallet get send to my cold wallet, if i added it, or else they are gone? And if the onchain tx fees are high that could mean not much is left..?
With the hub app 'pw fill-in area', also if i fill something in there and try to copy it hitting right mouse no options show up to copy/paste.
I could either get used to it, fill in the pw manually every time, or maybe make it shorter(less strong) because this app with pw are only on this device i use? So it's not that someone could hack it and use it on their device, unless they have this physical device with app?

My technical language is a bit messy, sorry, i ment extension for windows. I use the alby atm. Thank you for giving some options.. Coinos looks interesting and so do the nostr signers. I would be able to combine the wallet and nostr signer i'm guess.

I just downloaded the alby hub, got surprised with a 20k sat payment to open the channel. Is this a one time thing as long as I use this computer I have? Or can i log into it via other devices onto my alby hub?
It does work a bit weird because i can't copy/past my password into the desktop app and needed to typ in manually that one time verifying code(don't have the name right) to activate the alby hub. Do i have to write the password it every time? Or is this hub/password only stuck to this device?)
I'm not used to apps, hear people talk about them, but i am somewhat oldschool dumb internetter.

Your words reminds me of a book from Hermann Hesse, 'Damian'.
It plays out in Germany somewhere round the beginning of ww1 or 2 (been a while since I’ve read it) and how the character is surrounded by people you describe. It’s fueled with insight of the ignorance of man and its push to destruction -from what I remember- and how some are just untouched by it.

I heard there are exchanges that have cards. Maybe bybit it is. You but some btc on the exchange and spend with card but I thinks it exchanges to fiat. I'd like to see that in Lightning somehow. And it need to be user friendly. Bolz, a ring i saw, but looks to me like some nerd quality is needed.

And I'm not that old.
I like that @npub180c…h6w6 put this question, because I am playing with an idea of creating value as I am one a rare ones, it seems, when it come to never having owned a Smartphone. I get all kinds of reactions of people wishing they could stop or wondering how I manage. So if your curious to know how? Read on.
I find it funny & sad to see the world change with this tech. I am especially sad for the kids. I see teenagers growing flamingo necks and (some)parents not looking up at their kids play. I remember -more that a decade ago- seeing a little one of a couple of years do a simple trick (probably for the first time) and then looking up if daddy saw… but dad was head down in his phone. That child's reaction I still see, her smile and shoulders just dropped. It’s becoming more and more normal on to see parents not looking. So much addiction in the open. Some people are just so lost when they have no signal or run out of power.
Here are some TIPS when going out without a smartphone:
• Just read a map -online if you wish- before you leave the house.
• Get a navigation device. It's not like you have to reject some of these awesome tools. Although knowing how to read a paper map helps you remember the way better the next time.
• Make some notes or just remember them. Perhaps bring some pen and paper along.
• Have an old-school digital camera if you like taking pictures and
film.
• Have a mp3 player if you want to listen to music.
• Look up at the sky, smell the air, feel the weather on your skin if you wish to know what to wear today, and when you're out all day, just leave prepared if you think it might rain. Or just check the weather online before you go if it's all a bit risky for you ;)
This All-In-One "comfort" is what keeps people hooked I feel.
And no worries if you do get lost or need some help to find some info, because most will never stop having one I 'm guessing.. Society has become my secretary for when I do need help. Most people are very kind to look it up when I ask.
Every years does seem to bring some more challenges for me to be able to join certain things, but I'll see how it goes. It’s not like I will reject these phones all my life if I am unable to joint (or spend btc whenever it becomes more mainstream).
SO YES, please learn to cut back and go back to a dumb phones.
I do hope some devs work on making btc payments easy without me ever needing to buy one of those black mirrors.
This tech is cool and all, but many are to stupid to use it wisely imo. It's like letting a child play with a loaded gun before it has any awareness about the dangers.
Anyway, that's my two cents.

I might have succeeded today on that. I started talking to someone today when paying him with cash - he was happy receiving cash those rare times - and that i took the energy to go atm first before paying him instead of just doing easy digital for reasons that he understood. tried ai pictures from #flux to make a #meme. Not what i saw in my mind, but was pushing for something with momentary input, but here it is. Never make meme's, had a thought of one while back with a movie scene and some words to add, gone, forgotten. Think it would have been a nice on, but in the moment, spuntanious didea instead of pushing. Funny new art this is, i enjoy you meme makers work. Any way how to learn this? Any good websites etc? #asknostr

Sadly many islanders around the world know a history of exploitation, being sacrificed for tourism loosing fertile land so others can live the postcard dream holiday, raising coast of living.
Oliver has more of these films i could agree with his point. I am curious how/why HBO c/would be so honest on such injustice? They also let George Carlin do his thing. Just wondering. Maybe there is some integrity between all those big tv channels..

Algos have often fed me post on Keanu being a nice guy, helpful, that he went though struggle and much pain but stands strong in all this.
I never met him, hope he is a nice honest man. He played in the awesome Matrix, works in Hollywood, I don't know. Watching violent movies, why do we (I) do it?

I would say it all depend on the maturity of the individuals. Disciplining a child is a broad term, if you trust their maturity nothing wrong if someone tells your child no, yes or go away, sit down. But again if he touches your child to discipline your child I would expect a clarification on what he thinks he is doing?
So maybe a sharing. This can be done in couples or with groups. Someone has the "talking stick". Each individual has lets say 5 minutes to speak on what they are feeling/ experiencing internally where the others gives them time and space to talk and they listen without reaction.
You can make guidelines, like giving a reaction on what is said it left alone for while. You could meditate, have a moment of silence between turns. After the sharing is done you could split up, do your own thing, go for a walk. Let it all sink in so one can observe what the others words do to them and reflect.
Maybe nothing needs to be said because things are cleared out or maybe the next day conversation happens with more understanding of the other. You could do this sharing daily, once a week, whatever. Helps to not bottle things up.
I know this way of sharing helps in my relationships. One feels a freedom to share their inner happenings without judgment. Sharing whatever, even things that makes one feel anger, jealous, guilty, unheard, happy, etc, so to help expose the ego by speaking it out. We can help each other grow towards more wisdom.
