Poem a day, Day #47
I thought I knew you,
Thought I held you in my hands.
But my hubris, delivered you,
Through my fingers, like sand.
And yet, I hold a memory,
Like glass holds light.
Happiness and Pain, like shadows, temporary.
And today turns to night.
Goodnight memory, adieu.
Like butterflies flit and disappear.
I’ll turn to tomorrow anew.
Tearful farewell, but eyes now clear.
