This is why my other half is actively seeking out new friends.
She sees that old group reinforcing the same behaviours which have led to them being single - like crabs in a bucket, as soon as one of them has some introspection and tries to deviate they all pile on with guilt trips and shaming to reinforce the group behaviour and pull the individual back into their line, it’s toxic AF.
She also tells me it wasn’t always this bad and that they’re getting worse as they get older, more aggressive about the reinforcement.
