Open source does not guarantee something to be better.
There are virus programs that are free open source that you can find on GIT, that you would want nothing to do with, and they certainly do not make our world a better place.
Vivaldi is based on the free open source development, chromium, and while their GUI may be closed source, it is not bundled with adware or spyware, plus it is not owned by an ad company who is partnering with Facebook and Google, as Mozilla is today.
