My uncle Jake came home from the War on Christmas, but he wasn’t the same. Sure, he would seem fine, most of the time. But if he heard a jingle bell or wrapping paper tearing, he would hit the deck and reach for a phantom gun. You could see part of him was still back there, still at the North Pole.
