To no one’s surprise, Poilievre’s favourite crime stat is untrue. 40 violent people were not arrested 6,000 times in a year.
1. it’s 40 people involved in *property* crime (“mischief or theft or vandalism”).
2. It’s 6,000 times someone was considered a suspect, or recommended for charges, or actually charged.
Example from me: 5 teens graffiti a store & get off with warning. Now they’re on the suspect list for weekly graffiti the rest of the year. = 250/6000.
