I was really scared during those early days. Being in NYC. All the schools closed. Horrible zoom classes with my linear algebra class. I tried to make things feel normal for my students but I didn't feel normal at all.
I'd go for walks at 1am when the Bronx streets were empty and the ambulances kept passing with their lights on but sirens off since there were so many sirens from ambulances it was freaking everyone out.
I HATED it.
