Germany has a very good age of consent law.
California does not. In fact, all sex everyone under 18 has, is in California illegal. Obviously the law is rarely enforced.
In New York State and Illinois (among others) two consenting 16 year olds can both go to prison for the "rape" of the other. US age of consent laws are really fucked up.
