Liberation Serif for body and Liberation Sans for headings. (They work well enough with my editor's Times New Roman default)
I can't control what the reader will see on their device so it really doesn't matter. I picked two faces in the same family.
For print, where I do have some control, I tend use the default although Bookman lays down well on the page for me.
