An excellent & under-recognised point, of course. But I think it would also help if people understood we don't have to "reverse" Brexit & rejoin EU to improve things.
Before the ref, Brexiters repeatedly assured us UK could stay in single market (= soft Brexit). So take them at their word & aim for "classic (soft) Brexit".
Still a challenge to build EU support, but less political risk for EU & more economic benefit to let UK into CU/SM at least.
Labour is stupid to rule this out.
