Talking to family about questionable investments they don't entirely understand is difficult, especially when you don't share their excitement. Cryptocurrency gets a semi-religious fervor of "investing in commemorative gold coins" or collecting beanie babies. The FTC has some good guidance on what to do after paying a scammer (below), but the same ideas are true before they lose it all too.
