Violence is political energy.
Sri Lankans didn’t chase their President out of the country with fists full of rupees; they torched buildings, stoned the riot police and marched on the palace til he had to retreat.
Polite society looks down on wanton violence because it is destructive to the social fabric. Doesn’t delegitimise it’s effectiveness or negate it’s energy potential.
