I wasn’t even really trying to save money, although it *looked* like it was aligning that way. I was just trying to go with the guy who had been my go to when I worked with the previous company. But he and they had a “falling out” of some sort.
I kept telling him I wasn’t trying to save money, what I wanted was to get it done as fast as possible before my daughter was born. I just kept getting gaslit that the point where “it will get really fast after this…” was right around the corner. Unknowingly I hired him to basically do the job by himself and with his buddy there half the time for maybe 2 full days out of the week.
I should have recognized the signs earlier, but I’d worked with the guy on other projects through the company and he really seemed to have his crap together. I guess I found out though 🤷🏻♂️
