ngl, a lot of older (even 90s) Star Trek details are a bit conservative. Denying all kinds of transhuman augmentation for something that happened 300 years ago? Really? That kind of human-body-worship makes me a little queasy.

(Now, to be fair, that's from a Watsonian perspective. From a Doylist perspective, normal humans are easier to portray so I understand. And newer Trek eased up on it a little.)
