"content": "nostr:npub1hvdfn5ne7zvks3ztfewr00vdjv3kve4nddht43p8fjepc8rn6yasz69sq9 Not sure exactly how old you are, but there was a time when everything, absolutely everything, wasn't literal, physical, and a brutal attack. In those medieval days, comedy was built on premises that were intentionally outrageous.\n\nIn that time and place, \"comedy world\" was, by definition, non-existent. The characters were thought experiments meant to point up the irrationality we judged humanity's fundamental attribute. Outing that is actually what drew the audience. \n\nPeanuts is an excellent example. Ostensibly a cute strip about adorable children, it's packed with impossible premises and a pronounced dark undercurrent, both of which tweaked society's arrogant pretensions.",
