Usually I leave them be, but I had to remove the nest because that's one of the favourite hiding spots of my cats and it was dangerous for them.
If you move slowly wasps usually don't attack, anyway.
Well... except that one time that there was this wasps nest with wasps that made totally unprovoked ambushes while we were walking around in the garden!
