"content": "Frederick Soddy died #OTD in 1956.\n\nHe was an English radiochemist who explained, with Ernest Rutherford, that radioactivity is due to the transmutation of elements, now known to involve nuclear reactions. He also proved the existence of isotopes of certain radioactive elements.\n\nHe received the 1921 Nobel Prize in chemistry for his research in radioactive decay and particularly for his formulation of the theory of isotopes. via nostr:npub1kvnpp3m60derhwpqwc09zhk3ehk48tr6agc6dk9z2vggu9sga28qpxhm73 \n\n#books #science #chemistry\n\nhttps://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/108/139/957/434/569/original/c2589f340c526c3d.png",
