I'm not going to get into what Mastodon gGmb's goals, development speed and vision are, but I can foresee a fork at some point where others band together and take the lead and that fork becomes the primary & most likely will have a plugin engine. Time and again, stalled or poor decisions of a primary FLOSS project leads to a stronger fork. This would've happened already if admins were devs but most aren't really. My skill level is I know enough to be worried I don't know enough
