Su-Shee (nprofile…kzhg) Static binaries are great and all, even dynamic ones, as long as they don't rely on 658 dependencies, and don't require you install latest everything, etc. But the greatest way really is to be social, and actually collaborate with distro maintainers to get your software officially adopted by them. And as a bonus, you get your project in order too, following best practices, security, etc. A lot of developers just give up on the idea, and try to provide their packages externally to "workaround" the normal way. People use Linux package managers /because/ they need a 3rd party (the maintainers) between them and the developer of the software, to add a layer of trust in the middle. Trust that is very hard to gain from scratch otherwise.
