I've started to separate news and social media and I can highly recommend it.
I come here to vibe with my online buddies. The only doom I want to see here is doom metal, so my politics filters have 72 entries and counting.
📰 To stay informed, I've installed an RSS reader and subscribed to a selection of news sources. I can actively check the news whenever I'm in the right headspace.
You are NOT obligated to endure a 24/7 onslaught of doom in your safe haven. Reclaim that space. Filter and unfollow liberally. Stay informed if you can, but do so at your own pace. You can't win a fight if you have nowhere to wind down and regather your strength.
