Not sure if I’m late to the party but I just realized that zaps break the mindset of posting stuff for money.
It seems counterintuitive because zaps are quite literally money you receive for stuff you post.
But the critical thing is that it happens *after* the post. It is something you cannot predict, something that isn’t guaranteed.
That in turn makes you consider what people will consider the most valuable as opposed to being a mindless puppet to the people that pay you for your posts *in advance*.
Put simply: They incentivize you to think for yourself as opposed to following a script
