In #UX design conversations, dropping that one is not "pixel-pushing" is frequent: It both serves differentiates one from people who pixel-push and belittle that activity.
However, the "pushed pixels" in the user interface is what non-professionals see.
To devalue visible and relevant work is not a winning strategy for a profession that wants to convince people outside of its field of its relevance.
