I've kept my Facebook account in order to stay connected with the several hundred friends, family, and other 'offline' connections I'd otherwise lose touch with. But I don't post much anymore.
I just logged on and started scrolling my feed. 9 straight promoted posts, then 2 posts from groups I follow, then 3 more ads. It took me 14 posts to get to something from a specific human being I follow.
Note to self: don't take the ad-free nature of the Fediverse for granted. 🙏
