People use TikTok because it’s brilliantly designed with amazing features, not because they don’t also care about freedom. They made their way to TikTok because up until about a year ago, TikTok was the only big social platform where they could reliably find trending topics — aka information situated in time — and it was the only platform where normal people could go viral. That is why I keep saying the most important thing about getting Nostr to really take off will be the combo of searchability and shareability. We already situate ourselves in time / chronology.
How many people continue using TikTok though?
People's actions are what matter, and freedom technology has relatively few users.
His point stands in my opinion.
You care. I care. He may even care. But that doesn't mean the vast majority of people do. Not even close.
