I love the cheerful disorder of my balcony pots. It's the result of some deliberate and some random plantings, complemented by a few volunteers. Will I get less tomatoes this way? Probably. But I also have at least five different types of spiders, many wild bee and hoverfly visitors and occasional pretty surprises like this self-sown wild poppy.
