Even in this very dry year, the garden did very well. The clay soil with a lot of organic matter absorbs and holds moisture, which helps the plants survive between rains.
These Seminole pumpkins (Cucurbita moschata) only received extra water as small plants. The quality this year is excellent (lots of sunshine). This pumpkin (squash) has been in storage for ten weeks, and it’s still beautiful!
