This #Nativity, I'm thinking about #Emmanuel and the teachings he brought to us. In particular, the corporeal works of mercy:
Feed the hungry,
Give Drink to the thirsty,
Shelter the homeless,
visit the sick,
visit the prisoners,
bury the dead,
give alms to the poor.
It strikes me that without one's basic needs met, we often aren't in a good position to hear about anything deeper. This year has been pretty tough. It has been an eye-opening 12 months.
