The wise rabbit’s take
On the plague of The Hague

They are calling us sick,
Say we’re a disgrace,
For holding a mirror,
To their crooked face.

Because they’re printing money,
Day after day.
To funnel to fossils without delay.
And as long as we use their currencies,
they will not stop these subsidies.

But still there is hope,
And in a desperate cry,
People assemble,
And start to defy.

Who’s standing up against the machiavellian?
It’s Extinction Rebellion.
Or the PVVs take:
The plague of The Hague.

Hoe laat is het?
Solidariteit!
Time to shine.
Time to conquer
Your inner divine.

Time for art, play and rants
For buildings up tents,
To signal we’ll stay
On this motorway.

No matter how big the conviction,
it will not save you
from inevitable eviction,
as ordered by decree
from the Politie.

It starts little by little
Then one after one,
And suddenly all my friends were gone.

Taken to custody,
Committing no crime,
Just shaming the luxury,
of the political slime.

Cooked and fried I go back to my host,
where we raise a toast,
to the power of the group,
eating harisa soup,
playing backgammon in loop,
while the cars on the highway
are yet again going
whoop whoop.
