Not sure if I can contribute anything of value, but along those lines, it can be difficult to discuss things with someone who has a model you previously held and abandoned when you discovered it was faulty. Very difficult to help someone else see the problems in their model (your previous model) or build your new model quickly. Persuasion is difficult
