I get a feeling that people established in their views before the disnformation world we live in now are radicalised and have no idea of it.
I was talking to a "liberal" today and he was so far left and thought himself rational. I think he still trusts mainstream media and in fact considers all "internet news"/journalism to be terrible
Personally I think they bring accountability amonst their chaos
