What's the value that UCLA or USC offers over CSU LA or CSU SF? It's *the selectivity*, the elitism, the fact that you can only take their courses if you "got in" and your cohort has been rubber stamped as "high achieving" and such. It's a sickening bastardization of an educational mission. Signaling rather than education.
