I went to public schools, my entire life. I learned civics. I learned the history of our great Democratic Republic and yes, indeed, I learned all about slavery. I was horrified by it, but I can’t say that it made me feel guilty. Ask your other public school educated friends and family. This matters to me because the #GOP is insisting that education about slavery makes poor white kids feel guilty. #BS Let all children read it all, let all children learn it all. Education is key to democracy.
