Then yup, there's at least some support for that one. I have A1398 (2015 15in with i7-4770HQ, 16GB, iGPU) and would love to port coreboot to it, but can't find flex breakout board for that header.
It's pretty nice because you can add EFI drivers to EDK2, and keep DSMOS string from SMC, allowing you to boot macOS without OpenCore or other hackery
