Jordan has the same legitimacy as Saudi Arabia. Both are Kingdoms ceded by the British crown to placate some of their Arab allies, but also, both were born out of the condition of disunity among Arabs. Western imperialism wouldn't accept a strong Arab nation, be it a Caliphate, be it a Panarab Republic.
That's why they first betrayed sheik Hussein, to keep him from becoming a Caliph, and then placated his sons with separate kingdoms all over the place.
