This is a HUGE win and shows our power. We had Trump caught with his pants down, and the courts got wind of this case before they could quietly ship him to CECOT. Quite possible the courts would have let this go if not for the huge anti-Trump groundswell these days though. That goes double with Trump now having judges arrested on the bench.
Might just be that Trump moved too soon without having the procedures ready to quickly move someone out of the reach of the US Marshalls though. This case was one of the first of the unlawful arrests with no warrant, charge, or even immigration "violation" alleged.
We've got a lot more POWs and hostages to rescue though, a lot of work lies ahead of us.
BTW, the SCOTUS ruling giving Trump (the sitting President) immunity to criminal prosecution may or may not apply to civil contempt. If it does not, a judge could order Trump held in jail until we have Mr Garcia back from CECOT, but enforcing that might set up a showdown between the US Marshalls and Secret Service assuming enough loyal Marshalls can even be found to attempt the mission.
