Ah yeah I totally agree with that! To be fair I do think we should be critical towards all new platforms, as long as the critique is fair, since currently everyone is trying to capitalize on the lack of a "good platform". But I think dismissing everything that isn't a part of the fediverse or proprietary is something I'm equally annoyed by because just like you said, it's not a thing that's on top of most people's needs. We already saw that most artists struggled with Mastodon.
